Deacon Francisco Zamora has been a parishioner at Our Mother of Sorrows for 14 years. In June 2012, he was ordained as permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Tucson, and since then has been serving at OMOS. In his ministry as a deacon, he particularly loves to assist during the liturgical celebrations, administer the sacrament of baptism and the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Deacon Francisco is also a scientist and a conservationist, with nearly 20 years of experience working on conservation and management of natural resources, particularly on water issues and river restoration. He has a Bachelor's degree in Oceanography, a Master's degree in Marine Resource Management, and a PhD in Resource Geography.
