“Spes Non Confundit”
“Hope does Not Disappoint!”
The Papal Bull of Indicition for the Holy Year!
Pope Francis stated in his February 2022 letter announcing the Jubilee 2025: "We must fan the flame of hope that has been given us and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty by looking to the future with an open spirit, a trusting heart and far-sighted vision. The forthcoming Jubilee can contribute greatly to restoring a climate of hope and trust as a prelude to the renewal and rebirth that we so urgently desire..."
A Spiritual Pilgrimage For Our Mother of Sorrows
During this Holy Year of the Lord, our Holy Father has deemed that there will only be five Holy Doors in Rome for pilgrims to physically visit. Realizing that many of us cannot travel to Rome due to various reasons, our parish will have this year a “spiritual pilgrimage” for all of us to participate in to celebrate this “Year of Hope”.
On the First Saturday of each Month, our parish will focus on a special aspect or virtue of Hope as outlined in the Papal Bull (Decree) “SPES NON CONFUNDIT” - “Hope Does Not Disappoint!”. Thus, the 8:30am Mass on the First Saturday of each month will be celebrated as a Mass of the Holy Year - with a focus on an aspect of Hope as outlined in the Papal decree. The Mass will be followed by a Holy Hour which includes Benediction / Adoration specifically directed to the aspect of Hope celebrated during the Mass.
